The development of Nils Hansens vei 9–11 is a pioneering project. The first residents to move in will become pioneers in the broader transformation of Bryn East. The planning process itself represents groundbreaking work, where an open and trust-based dialogue between the municipality and the developer can lay the foundation for a successful outcome. An innovative use of the early phases of the project can help create pioneering buildings and landscapes with solutions based on local resource cycles, rooted in the site’s history and unique topography.

By bringing these forces together, we can create an attractive and inclusive neighborhood on the sunny slope by the Alna River.

Our proposal draws on the historical, landscape-related, and human resources of Bryn East. With its location close to public transport hubs, recreational areas, and workplaces, the Nils Hansen quarter has strong conditions for environmentally friendly and urban development. The project can become a model for sustainable neighborhood development, offering modern housing forms and new architecture adapted to the site’s terrain and context.
