The mandate for the study was to see how Blindernveien can become a strategic piece in the development of Oslo as a knowledge city. The time to discuss Blindernveien and adjacent area along this axis is rigth in several ways. Lower Blindern campus is subject to major changes such as the establishment of the Life Science Building and the freeing up of space in the existing campus that follows. The arrival of Blindern campus is to be improved with a new metro station and in addition NRK’s relocation from Marienlyst represents an opportunity for linking the university to the city centre of Oslo. The feasibility study seeks to bring all of these transformative processes together in one comprehensive plan. The study identifies four key initiatives needed to develop an international force field for knowledgeand innovation in the area that extends from Gaustad, via Blindern and on to Majorstuen.
