Vest-Agder Museum, Kristiansand

Competition entry for a new building for Vest-Agder Museum in Kristiansand in southern Norway.

The site for the museum is almost not a site. Overcoming the height differences and complicated access was key in the design. Our proposal was an exhibition volume resting on a base of four wings interacting with and curating the landscape, medtiating the levels of the site. Visitors enter a grand boat hall and ascend on escalators to the main level overlooking the harbour and the city.

Type: Architecture

Client: Vest-Agder Museet

Date: 2017
